Beth Rontal, LICSW, is a nationally recognized speaker and consultant on mental health documentation. What makes her approach unique is an unexpected professional twist: she spent 20 years as a theater costume designer before becoming a trauma therapist. Her creative eye for telling stories through structure, patterns, and detail, honed through costume design, shaped her mid-life career change into an unexpected passion for clinical documentation.

During her 11 years supervising clinicians at a mental health clinic, Beth helped develop the clinic’s first electronic documentation system that streamlined a complicated process, slashing both time and errors while saving the clinic thousands of dollars. In doing so, she unearthed an unexpected gift: the ability to teach the very skill most therapists dread… clinical documentation.
